DVSA has introduced a new app which, on a brief scan of any vehicle number plate, can give DVSA full details of insurance, MOT status.etc.
The app is already being used successfully on the vehicle standards side of the agency’s work but will be used by driving examiners to check the status of vehicles being used on test to ensure they are compliant. ADIs and pupils should be aware that this is in operation now.
Clearly the majority of professionals have nothing to worry about, but remember the Midlands instructor whose pupil was pulled over by police and the ADI’s car was found to have no MOT or insurance? The examiner will now know before test!
